Editorial Policy

How we decide what to publish, which sources we accept, and how we correct mistakes.

Last updated

Our standard

We state that a part is compatible with a machine only when an official source supports that statement and we cite that source on the page. If we cannot verify a claim, we do not publish it as fact.

Sources we use

Compatibility is researched from official documentation, in this order of preference:

  1. the manufacturer's website;
  2. official instruction manuals;
  3. official parts catalogues and parts lists;
  4. official service documentation;
  5. authorised distributors, only when no primary source is available. When we rely on a distributor, we record why a primary source could not be used.

We do not treat marketplace listings, unofficial sellers, forum posts or product photos as evidence of compatibility.

What we never do

  • We never infer compatibility because two parts look the same or have similar names.
  • We never invent model numbers, part numbers, dimensions or specifications.
  • We never merge regional versions. When a model or part has different numbers in different markets, we keep them as separate entries unless an official source explicitly states that they are equivalent.
  • We never present an unconfirmed match as compatible. Unconfirmed research is kept off the site.

How a listing is verified

  1. We identify the machine by its full model number and the markets where that number is documented.
  2. We locate official documentation that names the machine and the replacement part.
  3. We record the part number, the relevant details and the source, including the date we accessed it.
  4. We check every technical statement on the page against the cited source before it is published. Each published specification is linked to its source.
  5. We record the review date, which is shown on the page.

We also record explicit incompatibilities when an official source states them, because knowing what does not fit is as useful as knowing what does.

Use of software and AI tools

We use software, including AI tools, to help organise research, structure data and draft or edit text. These tools are not a source of facts. Every technical statement, including model numbers, part numbers, specifications and compatibility, is checked against the cited official sources before publication. Information that cannot be confirmed this way is not published as fact.

Review dates and updates

Every compatibility page shows when it was last reviewed. Manufacturers change their products and documentation, so we re-check listings when sources change or when readers report a problem, and we update the review date when we do.

Pages without enough information

We do not publish thin pages to fill out the catalogue. A model page is only offered to search engines once it lists at least one confirmed part. Pages that are still incomplete are kept out of search results until they are useful.

Corrections

If you believe something on the site is wrong or out of date, please contact us with the page address and, if possible, a link to the official documentation. We review every report against the sources and correct confirmed errors. Where a correction changes compatibility information, the page's review date is updated.

Independence and commercial relationships

We are not affiliated with any manufacturer, and no manufacturer or seller pays to be listed. Advertising and affiliate links, where the site uses them, are described in our advertising and affiliate disclosure. Commercial relationships never decide which parts we list as compatible.

Who publishes this site

The site is run by Javier Contreras, trading as ClipperPartsMatch, and all content is published under the ClipperPartsMatch name. We do not attribute content to individual experts or technicians, and we do not claim professional repair qualifications: every listing rests on the cited manufacturer documentation, not on personal expertise.
